In ancient North America. It is
estimated that there once existed over 200,000 cities,  structures and
mounds across the continent. Monk's Mound in the ancient site of Cahokia, had
a population estimated to be greater than that of London or Rome. Evidence
from Newark Earthworks in Ohio, revealed a culture, sophisticated in its
knowledge of mathematics and astronomy. Some years ago I was intrigued by the
presence in Ontario of ancient ogam (ogham) inscriptions, which confirm the
presence of ancient offshore visitors to North America. This book traces the
migration of people into the Americas and examines linguistic and DNA
evidence to assist us to understand the origins of these people. Emphasis is placed the earliest societies
in North America and the exploratory work of E. G. Squire and E. H. Davies
who in the 1840’s explored and surveyed many early sites, prior to the age of
‘urban renewal’ when many sites were obliterated forever
